Social Media Manager

Position Overview
The Social Media Manager is passionate about the development and implementation of content who understands the Brackish brand and is committed to achieving superior customer engagement across multiple social media channels and customer segments. In this role, you will write copy, develop and post content – images, stories, video, and text – to introduce and enhance the brand and encourage others to join the conversation. You will tenaciously follow conversations on social media channels while creating relationships with both customers and influencers to build a strong and engaged community of Brackish followers. Your goal is to increase revenues by optimizing the company’s social media presence and following.

Reporting Relationship

Reports to: Head of Marketing and E-Commerce

Collaborates with:
Internal – Wholesale Sales, Design and Development, Inventory and Planning, Production and Fulfillment, and Customer Service
External – Advertising/Marketing Agency, Third-Party App Developers, Website Developers

What You Will Do
  • In collaboration with Brackish leadership, develop and execute a Brackish social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification.
  • Create, manage and maintain all company social media pages - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn
  • Engage across all social media platforms to connect with target customers and communicate the Brackish voice in engaging ways across all platforms
  • Create and implement a social media marketing plan and editorial calendar
  • Generate, edit, publish and share content daily (original text, images, video, and HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take positive actions on
  • Find and foster influencer relationships with targeted partners
  • Foster internal relationships for artisan and leadership spotlights
  • Moderate UGC and messages appropriately based on company and community policies
  • Track and analyze reporting to gain insight on traffic, demographic, post times, engagement, and effectiveness to positively affect future outcomes
  • Assist Marketing team in crafting copy for email and digital ads
  • Work closely with our digital ad agency to ensure updated and fresh content across all advertising platforms
  • Continuously improve the social media strategy and plans by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social metrics, insights, and best practices, and acting on this information to guide future strategies
Bachelors degree required – preferably in Business, Marketing, Media Communications, Journalism or Graphic Arts

Skills & Qualifications
  • 2+ years in digital marketing and social media
  • Strong work ethic and the drive to continue to learn best practices
  • Willingness to work outside of standard business hours – able to be “on-call” when needed to post at optimal times and reply and engage with followers in a timely manner
  • Able to identify social media metrics and website analytics specific to Brackish and interpret these results for effective and strategic social media campaigns
  • Understand the nuances and differences of each social media channel and how to extend the brand’s reach in an authentic way
  • Skilled at developing creative, organic copy and content
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premier
  • Strong photography and videography skills
  • Willingness to work independently with a go-getter attitude for content creation
  • Resourceful – always thinking of easy and organic ways to create content
  • Thinks outside the box and prides themselves on doing things differently than traditional big companies
