Weddings by Brackish - A Jane & Tanner Spotlight

Posted by Brackish Team on

On November 1, 2025, Jane & Tanner tied the knot at Middleton Place in Charleston, South Carolina. Complete with lowcountry views, feathered bow ties, and friends & family, this wedding truly captured magical moments.

We recently had the opportunity to speak with the newlyweds about their wedding. Below is an inside scoop into how their wedding became such a special moment.

How did you & your partner meet?

“We were introduced through a mutual friend who had been trying to get us to meet for a while. The connection was instant, and everything just felt natural and easy from the moment we met.”

What was your wedding inspiration?

“Our wedding inspiration was to create a day that blended our personal sentiment with Charleston’s timeless southern elegance. We wanted the day to feel classic and romantic while reflecting who we are as a couple. One of our favorite touches was having sheep greet guests during the garden stroll from the ceremony to cocktail hour - it added a whimsical, unexpected element that perfectly matched the day’s joyful vibe.”

What was one piece of advice you took from wedding planning?

“My best piece of advice is to stay present and remember what the day is really about. Wedding planning can get overwhelming, but focusing on celebrating with the people we love helped us keep everything in perspective.”

What made you feel most confident on your special day?

“Everything from my dress to the small details was chosen because it felt authentic to me. Being surrounded by my closest friends and family also made the day feel incredibly grounding and joyful.”

How did you choose your Brackish piece(s)? Was it personal connection, for the aesthetics, for a unique touch, etc?

“We chose bow ties from Brackish for the groom, groomsmen, and close family members on both sides because their unique feather designs reflect the same Southern character and Charleston style we wanted woven throughout every detail of our wedding day. We went to the Brackish showroom in Charleston together and worked with the Wedding Specialist: Ansley, to pick each bow tie personally. We thought about everyone’s individual personality and style. In the end, we created the perfect collection of 14 unique bow ties, which added a really personal and memorable touch to the day. Tanner wore the Bondurant Bow Tie, while other members of our family represented the Rice Bow Tie, Exuma Bow Tie with a custom wrap, Edisto Bow Tie, Jeffery Bow Tie, Pheasant Bow Tie, Moorcroft Bow Tie, Wallace Bow Tie, Original Bow Tie, Dorn Bow Tie, Dunbar Bow Tie, Bisbee Bow Tie, Old Ben Bow Tie, & the Papadopoulos Bow Tie.”

What story did you hope your wedding day would tell?

“Our wedding day was meant to tell a story of pure joy - the joy of being with each other and the joy of sharing that moment with the people who have shaped our lives. We wanted it to feel heartfelt, full of laughter, and entirely true to who we are together as a couple.”

What detail, big or small, took your breath away when you saw it on the wedding day?

“Seeing our personal style fit seamlessly with the venue’s natural beauty truly took our breath away. Our planner, Parte Event and Design, went above and beyond to bring everything together. The setting itself was already stunning, with Spanish moss draping from the live oak trees and the Ashley River flowing in the background of the ceremony. Watching all of the details come together made the entire space feel as though it had been transformed into something uniquely ours for the day.”

How did each of you approach choosing your wedding day look? Did you lean into tradition, trend, or something more personal?

“I wanted a timeless wedding look with a few personal touches. Once I found my dress, I knew I wanted something a little extra, so I designed a custom bow on the back - it felt like the perfect finishing touch that made the look truly my own. For Tanner, we knew we wanted a clean, classic tuxedo look. Brackish was the perfect addition to his outfit, tying into both our Charleston venue and his South Carolina roots.”

If your accessories could narrate your style story as a couple, what would they say?

“Elegant, minimalistic, and sentimental. I didn’t want anything too flashy that would take away from my classic bridal look. I wore simple drop pearl earrings, but skipped out on a necklace and bracelet. On my right hand, I wore my grandmother’s wedding ring, made from family diamonds, which added a meaningful, personal touch to my look. Tanner kept his look classic with a dress watch, traditional cufflinks, and his personalized Brackish bow tie.

What song was a must-have on the wedding day playlist?

“When in doubt, you can always count on the Cupid Shuffle. It was the perfect way to get everyone onto the dance floor and start the night of celebration.”

Cheers to the Happy Couple
