On March 22, 2025, Madison and Joey tied the knot on their family property in Texas. Filled with color, family and friends, and overall, this wedding surpassed expectations and defied the traditional wedding norms. Brackish was honored to be featured on this special day, with a complete ensemble of bow ties, plum thicket pins, and pocket squares.
We recently had the opportunity to speak with the newlyweds about their wedding. Below is an inside scoop into how their wedding became the glorious image everyone is obsessing over.
How did you and your partner meet?
“Even though we love to tell people we met at a Mexican restaurant in Houston; we actually met on Hinge!”
What was your wedding inspiration?
“Cape Cod meets Texas. We wanted the classic aspects of the hydrangeas from Cape Cod but mixed with colorful vibrant elements. Joey is from Cape Cod and Madison is from Texas, so it blended both of us.”
What was one piece of advice you took from wedding planning?
“Don’t worry about trends or what other people have to say. Do what feels right and what you love. Also, be appreciative of the process and your family who is helping you. It’s a lot of work, but so rewarding and worth it.”
What made you feel most confident on your special day?
“We both prioritized our health prior to the wedding and took a lot of time thinking about our outfits. You can only control how you show up on your wedding day, so we focused on ourselves. Also, having an amazing support system around us with all of our friends and family was so special that adds confidence seeing how many people support you.”
How did you choose your Brackish piece? Was it a personal connection, for the aesthetics, for a unique touch, etc?
“Madison had planned all of the colors of the wedding around Jacques le Chiquito bags. It was Joey’s idea to use Brackish bow ties and accessories to make the men pop. We chose each piece for groomsmen, particularly ones that coordinated with the girls' purses. For Joey’s outfit, the black goose feathers on the Rice Bow Tie and Beckham Pin, had a timeless, simple elegance feel. We added the Carew Pocket Square staggered in front of the Obsidian Pocket Square to pull together the white undershirt, black pants, black satin and crème jacket. The standout piece in the ensemble was the Bostic Cummerbund, which elevated the look seamlessly. The tuxedo was custom made by Adam Ross Custom, which was inspired by the Brackish products and accessories.”
What story did you hope your wedding day would tell?
“We wanted our wedding to tell our story. Our wedding felt unique to us by bringing in our own ideas and making it our own style. We truly wanted everyone to experience our happy place, so we brought our loved ones to our family property in Texas for the wedding.”
What detail, big or small, took your breath away when you saw it on the wedding day?
“Every single detail took our breath away. Our planner: Piper, from Piper & Muse, helped us bring our vision to life. Not a detail was missed, big or small. The larger details like the florals and tent were the highlight. Our favorite part was focusing a lot of time on the smaller details like the different Jacquemus purse bouquets and the matching Brackish accessories for the wedding party. The most special part was celebrating our day on the family property”
How did each of you approach choosing your wedding day look? Did you lean into tradition, trend, or something more personal?
“Wanting to mix timeless with uniqueness, Joey gravitated towards a traditional, yet elevated, black and white tux while incorporating handcrafted feathered pieces by Brackish. Madison wanted to make a statement with her looks. She wore two showstopping dresses by Nicole and Felicia.”
If your accessories could narrate your style story as a couple, what would they say?
“Classy, fun, and always overdressed for the occasion.”
What song was a must-have on the wedding day playlist?
“Tennessee Whiskey”
